Tumor Supression Gene has been discovered that might treat lung cancer. Methylation, adding a methyl group "H3C-" to a cytosine nucleotide, can silence the DNA, meaning that proteins cannot be synthesized from it. Therefore, demethylating the DNA would reactivate the transcription and translation of the DNA.
