Fatality at San Leandro BART Station

Train collides with an unidentified man, killing him instantly. He was under the train when it happened. Now the train has been delayed. The officials have not determined whether it's a suicide or a prank turned deadly

Horrible. In Hong Kong, to prevent such things from happening, every station puts up a thick glass wall with glass doors. As long as there is no train, people cannot fall into the track. When the train arrives, the wall doors and the train doors open at the same time, like some old elevators. The wall is probably bullet-proof as well, similar to some banks.

I don't know whether BART can afford to put up the glass walls, but it's really a toss-up between delaying hundreds of commuters and salvaging the bottom line.
