Rush Limbaugh says that we can't be responsible for holes in the ozone layer. The sad thing is that chlorofluorocarbon is more a catalyst than it is a compound that destroy one ozone. CFC is actually regenerated after destroying O3, so it can continue many times before it finally degrades.
I didn't remember the equations, but fortunately I found them in the wikipedia article, under section "Environmental issues."
As you can see, chlorine is regenerated after reacting with ozone to produce oxygen. It's a knavish piece of chemical, indeed.
