Mobile video handset will allow Deaf people and ASL users to sign. hat tip to Nate

In summary: The new technology tries to focus on the face for high-fidelity, the hands and arms for lower fidelity, and the body for lowest-fidelity. This reduces the processing power that tends to make using mobile phone for video conversation difficult, because battery can be used up too quickly.

I look forward to getting an Apple iPhone with this kind of video compression tool. Then I can chat almost anywhere and practically anytime, a big improvement from being stuck at home.
