Drug law of Minnesota

Why Nixon was the most significant president in the United States, drug laws acquired its "Scheduling," the name for classifying the danger level of drugs.

Unlike other countries, which tax and regulate drugs (thus keeping them in the government's view), the war on drugs started by Nixon, banning narcotics, has driven drugs into the underground, out of the view of government. This leads to ensnaring your own innocent nephews into a legal system designed for murderers and rapists.

Why should possession of drugs be equated to grave crimes? It's better to tax and regulate, perhaps set up a higher tax for any minor desiring to purchase drugs, and lower tax for adults. Moreover, the fact that our prison population is so overflowing with people convicted of possessing narcotics simply means that the government would make money from taxing narcotics and funding education campaign than wasting billions of dollars every year trying to fight it by sending helicopters into South America, Coast Guards into the Gulf of Mexico.

The tax may be high, and people may not respect the law, but that is probably because the law is unreasonable in its restriction. Zero tolerance? Total ban? What?

War on drugs? You mean young people who buy drugs are committing treason? You don't say ...
