This Mark Foley scandal, an inadvertent October surprise?
I still wonder what Karl Rove or some other Bushmen will spring something to distract the media a few days, or a few weeks, from focusing on this sad advantage-taking (legal in Washington, DC).
Although I support making the legal age of consent more lenient beween people who are close in age to each other, this is the other side of the coin, you don't want a powerful Congressman being able to exploit the psychology of a young teenager legally.
The other thing I'm disappointed at is this Congressman's inability to write.
How I long for the days of John F. Kennedy or Thomas Jefferson, penning the language of law, and following the law of language. No folkspeak at all, but deep and eloquent oratory that makes us roll up our arms, wipe tears from our face, and get to work.
