time
Half a decade.
Hundreds of children are starting elementary school.
Will they remember?
Does time devour?
Does time exaggerate?
Will in some generations hence, we invent a character that is prophetic?
Is it all those who lived in New York City on that day?
Is our memory so ephemeral on the west coast?
Is it that I live in a place where no constant reminder exist?
Or that they do not startle?
I remember the night of 9/11, when some Christian missionaries knocked on our door.
It was crass and abusive of a tragic occasion to proselytize.
And yet, looking back on it, were we going to say "Hail, Mary"?
