evolution of an atheist

Think about it this way: We always hear stories about feeble people who suddenly found God.

We must have stories about people who decide that there is no God. It's not easy to do, because atheism is so abstract compared to religions.

At the very least, even monotheism continue to convey the idea of God as a angry man with flowing beard that has hated our very existence since the time immemorial when we ate of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil.

It makes no sense at all. Why did God put that tree there? If all he created was good, and there is that tree of knowledge, then either he didn't really create it or that knowledge is somehow good? And if it was for the purpose of free will, what free will could there be in getting cancer or epilepsy?

No. The cancer and epilepsy arose not because of karma from past lives, evils done by parents, or inherent evil in a child, but because of faulty genetic makeup.
