further note
In a way, my earlier fear was right. Fernandes doesn't look as if she will not be the ninth president of Gallaudet University.
I don't know whether the hostility between Fernandes and the FSSA will be enough to force her to resign after she takes over. We shall see.
Culturally Deaf people are known to be stubborn. At least I've met many that remain adamant in support of activist "Deaf Power" (as opposed to Deaf Pride). They may be able to prevent Fernandes from doing anything as president, but this debacle tells me that Fernandes and the Board of Trustees equal in their recalcitrance.

Deaf pwer, deaf failure, back to pst way of doing things, decision via decibel or language. They say Gallaudet was an advance for deaf people, that's gone hasn't it ? with deaf deciding someone 'isn't deaf enough', whatever happened to democrac? and those deemed best for the job ? they'll moan when mainstream operates the same system toward hiring them won't they ? It'll take years now for anyone to take Gallaudet seriously, and it will put off many who would otherwise have wanted to in on the cultural thing. There's a 'Deaf' heirachy there that has more say than the education system, that, isn't democratic, I left deaf clubs because they did that..

Good point. I don't know why the hatred ran deeper than did plummet sound.
