Not what I expected this post to be about from the title. In part, I learned my meager signing skills from a class through the Deaf Gay and Lesbian Center here in San Francisco. Obviously they covered a number of signs in the local gay deaf communities; especially interesting in comparison with a particularly colorful and stereotypical sign for "gay"--as if licking your finger and fussing with your hairdo.
So how would you feel about a gay hearing person in this shirt?
I would be chuckling if someone wore it. If you want to wear it, that's fine by me. I've actually seen someone (deaf) with a hat that spell out "fuck you", so this isn't really that bad. Besides, only those who understand ASL would actually know what it means, if you know what I mean.
