old faithful geyser
Yesterday, we traveled on a trip to an area north of Calistoga (famous for that bottles of water you sometimes see on the market, and is itself north of Napa, famous for the bottles of wine) to see an old faithful geyser.
Geysers don't necessarily have to erupt every hour. To be old and faithful, you merely fulfill two conditions: you have erupted regularly in the long geological past; you will erupt regularly for a long time hence. Nature, unlike man, is not exacting in her measurement of interval; she changes its cadence to her whim.
