French national therapy

The French protests, for the "citizens can feel both oppressed by an omnipresent state and reliant on it for their sense of security (or even identity)," are ways of working out their aggression.

It's France, a socialist nation, whose citizens are so democratic that the government is unable to enact unpopular changes for the long-term goods of the country.

And I love the implications of the last sentence of the article, where French is said to love a good strike. Aside from being able to take a three-month vacation (I'm probably exaggerating), they can strike for several weeks as well, feeling solidarity with those that are unemployed, for example, but free to receive benefits, care, and welfare from the government forever.
