I hope California will do the same and pass a law requiring any e-voting software be open source. No software can be so simple as to count the votes and verify their validity, yet so crucial to being secure, safe, trustworthy and open to the public.
It's the same as that ballot box, where some people designed it to hold some fraudulent votes underneath. If people can't look inside the box, they will never know that there are frauds in the air.
