Why did she have to say this:
She believes that it should take 60 votes out of 100 to confirm a judicial appointment to the Supreme Court, rather than the usual 51 votes, or a simple majority that is specified in the Constitution.
I don't agree with that. If it happens that 60 of all the Senators are Republicans, it still wouldn't solve any problems. Our goal is not to try to change the U.S. Constitution to fit what is convenient to us. Our goal is to convince Americans what is right and wrong, and who can lead the party better. Our goal is to revolutionize policies, not to bitterly complain that the federal judge gets to stay for a lifetime without check and balance.
I believe that the federal judge's ability to stay above the political fray after confirmation provides the best and level-headed discussion of what adhering to the Constitution means beyond the simple social values that it engenders.

So we're saying we think you ought to get nine votes over the 51 required. That isn't too much to ask for such a super important position. There ought to be a super vote. Don't you think so? It's the only check and balance on these people. They're in for life. They don't stand for election like we do, which is scary.
