relabeling myself politically

I am relabeling myself. I am

1. Socially liberal. (We have rights!)
2. Fiscally moderate. (Some government programs, like Social Security and Education and Defense Spending, are necessary to ensure we don't live in poverty of wealth, knowledge, or protection.)
3. Environmentally conservative. (That means I don't support that Arctic National Wildlife Refuge oil drilling.)

I'm conservative in the sense that I support CONSERVATION AND PROTECTION of the environment. It's just that peculiar American ability to invert the meanings of words.

As you can see, Congress originally approved offshore coastal drilling, which could possibly have prevented the Arctic refuge from being opened up for drilling. Unfortunately, Clinton vetoed that bill in 1995 because he wanted to preserve the coastal reefs.

Hrmm. Coastal reefs with little fish and big mean sharks or the Arctic wildlife with caribou, polar bears, and penguins?

I know penguins don't live in the North Pole.
