Our dear Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has been utterly useless in gay marriage legislation. The California legislature has passed law allowing same-sex marriage twice! And it was twice vetoed. The legislature unfortunately couldn't override it.

Now, the California Court has joined the legislature, but it will obviously be painted as judicial activism rather than a legislated act.

I guess the honor of being the first state to have the legislature and the governor pass and sign into law allowing same-sex marriage will not belong to California.
