link help
I can't find that blog post by someone from 2005, when gas price appeared to be going down from its high of $3 to $2 and he decided to buy an SUV and tell the environmentalists to shove it.
If you can find it, let me know. I think Instapundit linked to it once.
I have a little bit of schadenfreude when I think about him filling up his 15 mpg SUV and paying 60 dollars for each refuel. Up yours. So you thought the world will go along swimmingly and the nay-sayers telling people to conserve were wrong? Ha.
But seriously, everyone, don't blame the petroleum companies or the government since they can't control gas prices. Blame the developers that designed the suburbs so people can't walk or ride public transit. Blame the city-dwellers for not allowing new residential developments. And then, blame yourself for being unwilling to sponsor new developments for alternative energy. I have no time to hear all your worthless words opining that governments should support more developments in technologies and conservation.
I'm rather happy, though. The day that gas prices finally reach $5 a gallon, I will celebrate by driving to Los Angeles or Yellowstone Park. In fact, I hope OPEC will dial down its production the moment gas price starts peaking. That way, $5 a gallon it will stay.
