In France
There is no affirmative action.
Once you get into France, you're expected to be French, invisible, and French. In France, they forbid you from wearing that scarve on your head in school. Muslim youths are discriminated against in school, employment, and life.
In America, however, no matter how American you are, you are allowed to affirm your various ethnicities. You're freer to be yourself. The only ethics is to work hard and succeed. Bezos in Amazon.com is successful. So is Toni Morrison. Anyone can succeed, if they're willing to work hard.
Not so in France. No wonder they're estranged and angry. They're rioting, ready to storm the Bastille.
Then again, we may not have rioting here because we have fewer Muslim people, a tribute to our isolation.
