DVD + RW recorder supports closed captioning?
I got an email from a Deaf guy from Sweden:
I don't understand. I may press him for more info, but do you guys know what it means? He has recently moved to San Francisco and was buying furniture and DVD recorder.
I'm sure he didn't mean "we deaf" but I wanted to know what's DVD + RW that supports closed captioning. I've never heard of it.
"Last Saturday I purcahsed TV and DVD recorder. However I was informed by a salesperson that we deaf cannot purchase whichever DVD disc but only DVD + R. It is a pity because I would like to erase programs which I already seen. Or do you know whether there is any DVD + RW which supports closed captioning. It would be great."

Hi there,
I dont know if it helps. Please review my old blogs from Nov-Dec 2004. I had problem finding right DVD recorder (dual in my case) and found that Sony works perfect. Many cheapo DVD recorder probably will not work well with closed captioning for some reason.
I think they meant it has to do with hardware spec (like Sony) rather than DVD disc. (DVD+RW or whatever) I know that DVD+R/RW is generally better than DVD-R/RW for video purpose.
Hope it helps.
