terri schiavo is dead
After fifteen years, Terri Schiavo finally has a chance to rest. Let us mourn her passing, and pray that her soul is in a better place now, rather than trapped in a body whose brain could not articulate her wish.
Some people might wonder why so much attention should be paid to such and such a woman, when thousands of other families are still suffering from the same fate?
I answer that she was a beautiful woman, and she happened to have persistent parents that are willing to get what media attention they can, and so she was cast in a role to catalyze America's perspective on mercy-killing, bringing the Americans vis-à-vis with death, mental disconsciousness, and the relationship with God and prospect of the afterlife.
Should death be prolonged by science? Can God really decide that it was time for Schiavo to go, when doctors can prolong your body's life indefinitely?
The question is yet to be answered. The problem is mostly that it cannot be answered with full satisfaction.
