Ahh, this may explain a lot. In Elizabethan times, men preferred full-bodied women, so much that women who gave birth to children will try to hire a wet nurse because they want to maintain the size of their bosom. It was also a fairly famine-prone time.
In America and much of the developed Western worlds, men are easily satiated of their hunger, and tend to prefer thinness.
People have often wondered if this obsession over being thin was a result of fad or evidence of male domination, but really, men can't control their desires, the which are influenced by their stomach.
