Hunting
"Far from demonstrating those timeless 'rural values' that 'urbanites' simply can't understand, these organizations reflect some of the worst traits of modern society – above all, consumerist gluttony and the view of everything on Earth as a commodity, there for the taking."
I think I have a different view about hunting than many people. I believe that if you want to hunt, you should hunt without guns, instead hunt using arrows, boomerangs, or teamwork. This kind of hunting, from your car, at a group of quails grown readily for your pleasure, is a hunting I would sooner ban.
While I sympathize with animal-rights activists, the only thing I am against is torture. I cannot see any other ways for people with violent nature to recreate. But rather than trying to ban hunting outright, they should encourage hunting of the primal sort, without guns, and without torture.
In other words, as the article says, "hunt like a man." Otherwise, you would fit into the category of gun-toting trigger-happy cowards.
