Google Censoring

What's with all the silly hubbub about Google in China? It's the law. Google is simply following the law. I don't believe it's hypocrisy. I don't believe it's inconsistent or ironic.

And the article's explanation confirmed what was true, that France and Germany had laws against display of hate sites, and Google complied.

I don't want to say that "It's business as usual," because that might mean I don't care about the people in China having no freedom of information, because by the law of China, they already don't. If Google didn't censor already, China would have, including banning Google itself.

However, I do believe that Google doing this is a good thing, even if it's disagreeable, because ... because I have hope that China will change, or that Google might learn to reassert itself.

What is evil anyway? To me, evil would be disobeying the law for the sake of hurting people. I certainly wouldn't want any political activists in China getting hurt because Google has told them many things that were censored.
