Attenuator

I rewrote the Genetics section of . I had absolutely no idea what attenuation meant or did. My professor's explanation did not help, because he was talking about it like an abstract thing, a name given to something ill-defined. The textbook had a sentence of explanation, simply that it regulates translation of trp operon after transcription. My search on the web was a little more helpful, but not enough.

So when I created the Genetics section on Wikipedia, a freedom for which I thank the of Wikipedia, I barely understood what the attenuator was about. Now, I understand it better, enough to rewrite the article (comparison), which hasn't been touched on by anybody in Wikipedia despite the mistakes, misunderstandings, and misspellings that I didn't see before when I first wrote it.

My cell biology vocabulator also wasn't working that well, so I couldn't describe or paraphrase things effectively.

That nobody rewrote what I wrote highlights a weakness of Wikipedia, when people who aren't specialist in the field might choose to ignore it.
