2005 Deaf Blog Awards
First time I ever heard of it. It's a long time in coming. The Deafies can be so woefully behind. From what I see in the lists of nominations, the best candidates are the same crew I've known from the 'beginning' (wow!).
Weblog awards are not to be trusted because people seem to nominate the same blogs as before, even as many other good blogs are just waiting to be discovered. Moreover, a blog is now simply a tool used to communicate with friends, and are shared by words of mouth. Few people stick to the same category now; they're the ones who win for their consistency. I'm one of the those that teeter-totter among topics with wild abandon. Sometimes, I go for weeks without mentioning my deafness.
