global cooling
A mini-ice age? I've mentioned it before as the "global cooling", when ocean currents change. Having taken an oceanography class, it doesn't surprise me that scientists are worried about it. It doesn't even surprise me that they're finding significant changes in it. It does surprise me somewhat that they haven't called it part of the cycle of the climate. The last ice age for Europe was in the 19th century or something. Does that affect us Americans? Hmm. This is why I've tried to avoid saying "global warming" because warming sounds good, sounds like a perfect day on the beach, for a porn star. (I'm referring to the full-breast airhead who applied to be governor of California.)
Climate change doesn't sound too bad, because America loves changes.
On one hand, we'll destroy the environment, introduce plague and encourage mass migrations of people who have to abandon old lands because of droughts and move to new ones, which will disrupt society and civilization inexorably more than before. On the other hand, this will surely propagate scientists back into the forefront of society, and lead government to do research into controlling the weather.
Some people will naturally protest about unnaturally controlling weather, but based on so far that we've come, managing the weather should come as naturally as managing diseases.
