3 million cut off from water

Still think pollution is nothing?

It's likely that China is experiencing what Japan had just decades ago. There was a mercury-polluting plant in Japan that dumped its waste on an unsuspecting village. As a result, many infants were born with birth defects. This is how horrible environmental pollution can be, when 3 million people are subject to "no water can be drunk."

Benzene! Benzene! Aromatic benzene!
Not quite a 1,3,5-hexatriene!
Where have you been, so stable benzene?
Electron-localized benzene, so clean!
Six hydrogens with six carbons paired.
So beautiful has Nature's Law designed
A molecule whose elements have shared
Electrons amorously bridged to bind.
To change you, I Friedel-Crafts Alkylate,
But after that, I must consider how
Ortho, meta, para decide your fate.
I no longer need sweat my worry now.
I will remember you, beloved benzene,
And your constituents, like toluene.
