I have long expressed support for legalizing illegal immigrants. Now, I might have inflamed some people but my thinking is this: "Every ten years, Congress might as well take steps toward legalizing immigrants and making them citizens rather than keeping them illegal. It's obviously, in a painful sort of way, how much we depend on them for every amenity. We might as well reward them with the possibility of participating in this democracy of ours.

We might also as well try to bring up South American economy, rather than shunt them away in favor of China.
