The mother and father of the vegetative daughter in this case is understandably desperate, but they are also pathetic.

If I was already doomed, and doctors have ascertained that my brain will never function again, I would not want to be kept alive. Maybe my soul will ascend to the heaven (or descend to hell, if that's the case), and I'll be looking down (or up) and saying, "Let my body go! It has been the bane and livelihood of my existence. I would love to let it rest, decay, and be part of a new cycle of life, not some helpless organism that does nothing except urinate and defecate after being fed through feeding tubes."

Let my body go. Every life lost is always a tragedy, but in keeping a woman already brain-dead alive, it hurts us all.
