Jesus Christ: "I come not to bring peace, but to bring a sword"

I love seeing a chink in the shining armor that people try to make of Jesus, supposedly giving message of peace and joy to the world. His true goal, however, must be to set father against son, mother against daughter, neighbors against neighbots.

This tells us that heroes remained imperfect two thousand years ago.

I suggest that our sense of disillusionment in America probably arose from our long life span. Rather than dying quickly so sons can venerate their fathers, they live so long that stories told of bravery are contrasted with abuse.
