Time to add another word to our lexicon? The next one comes from geologists, who are beginning to agree that the Holocene era ended on the Industrial Age. The global warming skeptics will probably say it is egotistic to view a world that is anthropocentric, but there are plenty others who are tickled at the prospect that what they collectively do could alter.

Alas, my dear Emily! They succeeded in moving the mountains, with dynamites. And no sooner performed that mighty feat of physics and chemistry than invented the hydrogen bomb, whose irradiating light almost outshone the sun himself.

Yet, they are crude methods. Perhaps you are right. This too shall pass.

Perhaps this era should be called the "Misanthropocene Epoch" instead.
