They had a plotline on hermaphrodite. There was a girl who wasn't growing breast and felt out of place in high school. Eventually the doctors found a testis where the ovary should be. The parents want to remove it without letting the girl know, but one of the doctors forced the situation, resulting in her realizing that she could be a boy instead. At the end of the movie, she asked if she had to be a boy immediately, but the doctor said no. Then she wanted her haircut to be a boy. At that moment, her parents came in. Her mother offered to cut her hair for her, and so she did, showing the love her parents had. I should start using hir to describe people's intersexual gender, but what the hey.
