The only play I've read was The Crucible, which I thought was the most fantastic play ever. Yes, it had a sad ending, with the deranged girl still alive, but it was the perfect play that simply drove terror into my heart. The movie with Winona Ryder showed Ryder at her best performing the American play I loved.

Arthur Miller was writing up until the end. The other one you may know is "Death of a Salesman". The Broadway production starring Dustin Hoffman is availble on video.
I waited on Mr. Miller once. Didn't realize it was him 'til he gave me his credit card! Nice, quiet man.
